Deputy Commissioner Patricia Giorgio Fox was appointed to the
Philadelphia Police Department on May 31, 1976 and has served
in a variety of assignments, rising to the rank of Inspector in
August of 1997. In August 2002, she was appointed Deputy Police
Commissioner for Crime Control Strategies, making her the first
female in the history of the Philadelphia Police Department to
hold the rank of Deputy Commissioner.
Since her first assignment as a Police Officer in the 39th District,
additional assignments included: 3rd Police District, Police Academy,
Northeast Detective Division, and Detective Headquarters. Command
assignments included the 6th Police District, Police Radio, South
Police Division and Research and Planning Unit.
In June 2004, Deputy Commissioner Fox was appointed First Deputy
Commissioner and oversees all operational bureaus consisting of
Patrol, Detectives, Special Operations, Narcotics, Counter-Terrorism
and Command Inspections. In May 2008, Deputy Commisioner Fox was assigned to the Office of Operational Co-ordination and Accountability in Police Commissioner Ramsey's office.
Deputy Commissioner Giorgio Fox's educational accomplishments
include a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Temple University
and a Masters Degree in Counseling from Villanova University.
Deputy Fox is also a 1993 graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's
National Academy.
During her distinguished career, Deputy Commissioner Giorgio-Fox
is the recipient of numerous commendations, awards and citations.
A lifelong resident of Philadelphia, Deputy Commissioner Giorgio
Fox enjoys golfing and gaming vacations.
