Pre-employment background checks may be requested from either
the Philadelphia Police Department or the Pennsylvania State
Police.
Background checks obtained from the Philadelphia Police Department
will reveal criminal convictions for Philadelphia county only.
Reports obtained from the Pennsylvania State Police cover the
entire state of Pennsylvania and the
City of Philadelphia.
All requests for background checks require the payment of a
fee. There are no waivers or exceptions to this requirement.
The fee varies with the agency from whom the request is made.
Fees are always subject to change.
