by the Schuylkill River/Tasker Homes.
District Composite
The 17th District is 1.66 square miles. The population consists
of approximately 41,328 residents. A racial breakdown is as
follows: 31,141 - African-American residents 7,248 - Caucasian
residents 2,137 - Asian residents 732 - Hispanic residents 70
- Other residents.
Business Information
The 17th District has five (5) significant business areas: South
Street, Broad St. to 26th Street Point breeze Avenue, 1200-1700
blocks Grays Ferry Mall, 2900-3000 Grays Ferry Avenue Washington
Avenue, Broad St. to 25th St. Broad Street, 500 to 1800 S.
