The DNA Identification Laboratory commenced operation in 1992 and uses state-of-the-art techniques to identify and compare biological stains like blood, semen, hairs, to samples from known individuals.

The DNA Laboratory has been extremely successful in assisting in numerous investigations and prosecutions, especially with sexual assault. As in the Criminalistics Unit, the laboratory prides itself on its ability to test even the most difficult evidence.
