Abandoned Properties constitute a major problem for communities. They are unattractive, reduce property values, contribute to crime and decay, pose a safety hazard for young children who may play in them, and expose the entire neighborhood to risk of fire attributable to arson.

Citizens can use this report to notify the Department of Licenses and Inspections of properties within their neighborhood that are unoccupied and abandoned. With this information, the City of Philadelphia can notify utility companies to discontinue the water, electric, gas or phone service. Doing so reduces the property's attractiveness to a squatter or other miscreant intent on criminal conduct within the property.

After the utilities are shut off, the Department of Licenses & Inspections can arrange to have the property sealed or repaired by the owner.

Report abandoned commercial and residential properties located within the City of Philadelphia using the form provided. Please provide as much of the information requested as possible. It is vital that we have a complete, accurate profile of the property you are reporting to insure a prompt and effective response.
